Tuning and Repairs

Care you can trust with your equipment

Our technicians are trained on the binding systems we work with, and every mount, adjustment, tune and repair is approached with accuracy, safety and performance in mind. We take the time to assess each ski properly, rather than treating every service the same.

Village Ski Hut is also home to Nelson’s only workshop pairing a Wintersteiger stone grinder with a dedicated Wintersteiger edge-finishing system, giving our workshop precise control over base structure, edge finish and overall ski performance. Combined with experienced hands-on finishing, it allows us to deliver a level of consistency and care that keeps your skis feeling sharp, predictable and ready for the mountain.

Workshop services

Give your skis the attention they deserve

A good tune should make your skis feel predictable, fast, and sharp underfoot — not just look freshly serviced. Whether your edges need a clean-up, your bases need attention, or your skis are due for a full reset, our technicians assess the condition of the ski first and tune accordingly.

Our workshop is built around Wintersteiger equipment, including a programmable base resurfacer, stone grinder, and edger. That allows us to restore structure, flatten and finish bases properly, and bring edges back to a clean, consistent finish. We pair that machinery with hands-on inspection and finishing, because no two pairs of skis come through the shop in exactly the same condition.

We also handle binding mounts, adjustments, repairs, and more technical ski work in-house. All mounts and adjustments are completed by technicians trained on the binding systems we carry, with accuracy and safety treated as non-negotiable.

Hit a few rocks? Bring them in. We regularly assess base damage, compressed edges, and deeper repairs. Depending on the damage, we may use epoxy where a stronger, longer-cure repair makes more sense than a standard P-tex fill — particularly on touring skis, where repeated skin removal can be hard on softer base repairs.

We can assess damaged edges, but we are not equipped to perform full edge replacements.

How ski service works

No appointment needed. Bring your skis into the shop during our open hours and we’ll take them in on a first-come, first-served basis.

We’ll discuss the work you’re looking for, assess your equipment, and let you know the expected turnaround when you drop it off. Turnaround can vary with the season and how busy the workshop is.
