Expert Bootfitting

A better fit starts with a conversation

Great ski boots should disappear beneath you. They should hold you securely, respond when you ask them to, and let you ski without thinking about your feet all day.

At Village Ski Hut, bootfitting starts with listening. We want to know where you feel pressure, where you move inside the shell, how the boot performs on snow, and what you’re asking it to do. From there, we assess the fit and work through the right solution — whether that means choosing a better shell, modifying the boot you already own, or building a more supportive platform underfoot.

We’ve been fitting skiers in Nelson since 1968, and it’s one of the things we’re known for. From first boots and growing feet to race setups and difficult fit problems, our team takes the time to get the details right. And if your boots came from somewhere else, that’s okay too — if there’s a way to make them work better, we’re happy to take a look.

Get the right fit

What we can help with

From shell fit and stance to heel hold, instep pressure, forefoot width and overall volume, we look at how your foot is sitting in the boot before deciding what needs to change. That might mean shell work, liner modifications, padding, stretching or a custom footbed — but the starting point is always understanding your foot, your skiing and what you’re feeling in the boot.

Our fitting bench includes Fischer Vacuum-Fit technology, BootDoc Autofit for custom insoles, and Tecnica CAS presses, giving us a wide range of options for shaping and modifying boots properly. The tools matter, but knowing when — and when not — to use them is what makes the difference.

Ski Boots

If you’re booking a refit, bring your clean, dry boots.

Boots and liners must be clean and dry as best as possible. Wet liners (esp after a ski tour) cannot go into our ovens, so a fitting may need to be delayed or rebooked if they arrive wet.
